About Brooke Zook Guddat

Hi friends!

I’m Brookie — artist, sparkle enthusiast, and professional joy-bringer! My story is full of plot twists, paint splatters, and a whole lot of God’s grace.

I grew up with deep roots in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. On my mom’s side, my great-great-great-to-the-seventh-grandfather brought the very first Amish Mennonite church to the Conestoga area. On my dad’s side, generations of Old Order Amish came straight from Germany and settled in Lancaster County, living by the belief: to be in the world, but not of it. That same faith runs through me today — my Christian beliefs are the core of my life, the light that shines through me. I’m simply a conduit for God’s love, letting His Spirit flow through my art, my words, and yes… even my sparkles.

For years, I was building a career in the restaurant industry down in Cape May, New Jersey, when life hit hard: in the same breath, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and found out I was pregnant with twins. With my husband’s unwavering support, we dreamed up a new life together — one where creativity, family, and faith came first. That’s how I became a professional face painter, even with zero experience. I started at the West Cape May Farmers Market, learning as I went, and discovered the pure joy of watching kids’ faces light up — a ripple effect of happiness spilling over to their families and out into the world.

For a while, I painted on weekends while running our home-improvement business during the week. But after my husband’s health challenges forced us to close the business, I poured my heart into art full-time — using face painting, glitter, and later my abstract paintings to bring light in the middle of hard times. Today, I create fluid art pieces filled with color, movement, and freedom, each one a prayer, a celebration, and a burst of joy on canvas.

Now happily married for over 15 years, I’m a proud mom of boy-girl twins in high school, plus our furry family — Chloe the cat and Gracie, our King Charles Cavalier. Life’s storms eventually led us to the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania, right off the Appalachian Trail, where the forests feel like a storybook portal brimming with peace and beauty.

I love to sing, make big messy sparkly projects, and keep the four-year-old inside me alive — because as Jesus said in Matthew 18:3, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Whether it’s paint, glitter, or pure color on canvas, my mission is to create an exponential ripple effect of joy and help others reconnect with their own sparkle — inside and out.

So thank you for helping me make this world just a little bitter brighter one smile at a time :)
