I create little curls and spirals wherever they feel like they belong. There isn't really a plan. I just follow the movement.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI've always thought of those tiny swirls as little \u003cstrong\u003efingerprints of God\u003c\/strong\u003e — unexpected details that appear as I let the painting unfold.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut over time, this painting took on another meaning for me.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA friend’s mother was very sick, and she loved this painting. She told me she wanted it, but after I gave her the price, nothing ever came of it. Then she passed away.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI found myself wishing I had simply given it to her.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat experience reminded me how easy it is to assume we have more time. More time to give the gift. More time to say something. More time to take the opportunity. More time to follow the thing that lights us up.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSometimes we don't.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo I don't look at this painting as something sad.
