Celestial Drift
Celestial Drift
Celestial Drift was the largest painting I had ever attempted at the time, and I’ll never forget how much of a leap of faith it took to even begin. I was in the middle of a physically and emotionally intense season, and honestly… I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off.
I built a massive spinner table just for this piece — 5 feet wide — and used every technique I had in my toolbox: leaf blower bursts, fingertips, breathwork, even a fan pull string to shape those glowing jellyfish tentacles. I remember the sound of the fan whirring while I held my breath and trusted each movement to God.
Each jellyfish floats gently within this radiant aqua sea, their neon tendrils drifting in what felt like a divine dance of surrender, freedom, and flow. The soft white details glow in the dark — so at night, this painting literally lights up your space, just like God lights up the deepest parts of our journey.
This piece taught me to release control and allow beauty to unfold in unexpected ways. Celestial Drift is a glowing reminder that even in the darkest depths, we are being gently held.
