Divine Drift
Divine Drift
Divine Drift was created during a chaotic and high-pressure week when my storage space was maxed out and the heat outside was unbearable. So I brought the project into my home — quite literally onto my kitchen table — and built a hilarious DIY splash guard to protect my family’s space while I painted.
This 30x40” glowing jellyfish scene was a test run for a much larger piece I had planned. I only had one shot to get it right. The anxiety was real, but I trusted the process — and God — to help me finish strong. Using breathwork, gravity, a fan string, and my fingers, I surrendered to the flow, creating something that felt powerful and peaceful at the same time.
The deep ocean background is filled with shimmering metallics and rich cell work, giving the illusion of being completely submerged in God’s mystery. The jellyfish float effortlessly through it all, glowing with soft white lines that come alive in the dark. It’s a reminder to drift gently with whatever current life brings — even when you can’t see what’s ahead.
Whether you’re in a season of surrender or seeking something sacred, this piece will speak to your spirit.
“Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.”
Psalm 77:19
