Electric Bloom

12” × 12” | Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas |

Electric Bloom is one of four companion sunflower paintings that can each stand on their own or come together to create a larger sunflower composition.

I created this piece during the same season when my dad gave me a little studio refuge in his basement. So much of my life felt outside of my control at the time, but making art gave me somewhere productive to put all of that energy.

The canvas could hold the noise. The color could hold the feeling. And I could keep experimenting until something inside me felt a little lighter.

I love the energy in this piece — the way everything seems to be pushing outward and coming alive, even with so much complexity happening at once.

For me, Electric Bloom represents being vibrant, energetic, and expansive. 🌻
