I created Follow the Sun on my homemade kitchen spinner table—yes, the same one I used for my first deep blue jellyfish painting. But this time, I felt something totally different bubbling up in my spirit. I didn’t want deep and dreamy—I wanted wild, radiant, high-energy color. I wanted joy on fire.
This piece exploded into being with a “tequila sunrise” backdrop of hot pink and orange that makes my heart sing every time I see it. Three glowing jellyfish float upward like they’re chasing the light, their deep turquoise tentacles laced with shimmering metallics that catch the light just right. I even added glow-in-the-dark white details, so when the lights go out, it still glows with ethereal magic.
I didn’t plan much—I just let the colors flow, surrendering to gravity, movement, and pure creative freedom. Follow the Sun is about choosing joy, leaning into warmth, and trusting that God's light is always leading the way—even when we can't quite see where we're going yet.
