Harmony within Chaos

Harmony Within Chaos was created toward the end of a season of painting when I finally felt like I had found my flow with these paints.

I had spent years learning how they behaved, and by this point I was having more fun, trusting myself, and allowing the materials to do what they naturally wanted to do. This was one of those paintings where I remember stepping back and thinking, “Oh yeah. This worked. I want to figure out how to do this again.”

There is so much happening inside this piece. Swirls, cells, lines, textures, and little unexpected moments all come together in a way that feels complex but still connected.

For me, Harmony Within Chaos is about growth happening inside complexity. Life doesn't always become beautiful because everything suddenly gets neat and orderly. Sometimes there can be peace, beauty, and harmony even while things are still messy and changing.

This painting is part of my sunflower body of work and belongs in my GROW Realm because it reminds me of the beauty that can emerge while we are still becoming.

Inspired by 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV): “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace…”

For me, Harmony Within Chaos represents growth, curiosity, and harmony. 🌻
