What happens when you stop trying to control the paint and let it surprise you?

This was one of the first larger pieces Brooke created while preparing for an exhibition at the Penn National Insurance building. She was pushing herself beyond her comfort zone, working on a larger canvas and giving herself permission to experiment.

Using teal, pink, white, PPG paint, cement paint, powders, oils, and other unconventional materials, she let curiosity lead the way.

Part experiment.
Part crapshoot.
Part Hail Mary. 😂

And then this one happened.

Brooke remembers stepping back and thinking, “Yes. I fucking love this.”

What she loves most is how much there is to discover. Swirls, cells, textures, unexpected color interactions, and tiny imaginary worlds reveal themselves the closer you look.

It feels less like something she designed and more like something she discovered.
