Super Fun Swirling, Twirling, Magical Dancing

24" × 30" | Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas | Original | Planned Epoxy Finish

What happens when you stop trying to control the paint and let it surprise you?

This was one of the first larger pieces I created while preparing for an exhibition at the Penn National Insurance building. I was pushing myself outside my comfort zone, working on a larger canvas and giving myself permission to experiment.

I used teal, pink, white, PPG paint, cement paint, powders, oils, and other unconventional materials. Part experiment, part crapshoot, part Hail Mary. 😂

And then this one happened.

I remember stepping back and thinking, “Yes. I fucking love this.”

What I love most is how much there is to discover. Swirls, cells, textures, unexpected color interactions, and tiny imaginary worlds seem to appear the longer you look.

It feels less like something I designed and more like something I discovered.

That’s the spirit of WONDER for me: look closer, stay curious, and see what happens when you let the unexpected surprise you. ✨
